چکیده

We present an extension of the Polarizable Continuum Model (PCM) to the calculation of solvent effects on indirect spin–spin coupling constants for Hartree– Fock wave functions and Density Functional Theory. This is achieved by implementing the PCM model for singlet and triplet linear response functions. The new code is used for calculating the solvent effects on the indirect spin–spin coupling constants of benzene. For the J(HC) coupling constants, our calculated solvent shifts are in good agreement with experimental observations when geometry relaxation is taken into account. However, our results do not support the extrapolated gas-phase value for this coupling constant. A new experimentally derived J(H C) for a vibrating benzene molecule at 300 K is proposed.

The interpretation of the ultrafast luminescence decay in [Re(Br(CO)3(N^N)] complexes as a new group of chromophoric imidazo[4,5-f]-1,10-phenanthroline ligands, including 1,2-dimethoxy benzene, tert-butyl benzene (L4) and 1,2,3-trimethoxy benzene, tert-butyl benzene (L6), was studied. Fac-[Re(Br(CO)3L4 and L6] with different aryl groups were calculated in singlet and triplet excited states. The...

The performance of hybrid density functional theory for the calculation of indirect nuclear spin-spin coupling constants in substituted hydrocarbons.

Density functional theory, in particular, with the Becke-3-parameter-Lee-Yang-Parr (B3LYP) hybrid functional, has been shown to be a promising method for the calculation of indirect nuclear spin-spin coupling constants. However, no systematic investigation has so far been undertaken to evaluate the capability of B3LYP to calculate these coupling constants accurately, taking properly into accoun...

The NMR indirect nuclear spin–spin coupling constants for some small rigid hydrocarbons: molecular equilibrium values and vibrational corrections

The indirect nuclear spin–spin coupling constants of allene and of two sterically strained hydrocarbons – cyclopropane and cyclopropene – calculated at different levels of electronic-structure theory are compared with each other and with experimental equilibrium constants, obtained from experiment by subtracting calculated vibrational contributions. It is found that, even in a relatively small ...

Theoretical Study on Glycosyl Group Effect on Antioxidant Ability of Chrysin Bioflavonoid

Antioxidants are compounds which can prevent biological and chemical substances from oxidative damage by reactive oxygen species. Flavonoids are the most important class of polyphenolic compounds that because of their antioxidant characters possess biological activities and pharmacological effects. Chrysin-6-C-fucopyranoside and chrysin-3-malonyl-6-C-fucopyranoside are mono C-glycosyl derivativ...
